The most important building block!
In order for any community to survive, it must combine it’s resources, using them to create a common goal. Those resources come in many forms, but the strongest is the community itself. Who knows better what they want than the people who live here? After all, the community will be paying for it.
There should be regular town hall meetings for question and answer sessions. Not only because it is important to keep the public informed, but equally important is to listen to what they want and have to say.
I have lived in BVS for over 4 years now and have had the opportunity to learn so much from so many people who are more than willing to share their expertise, knowledge, and experience.
There is another element to the benefit of keeping the community involved. Taxes. BVS has a revenue problem, and the only place to pretty much get it from is the people who live here. By keeping the community well informed and involved, it develops trust. We need trust to get buy-in.
